Embrace the Gift

The Challenge: Make a "hug" - a toy you can embrace

The Result: My counterpart Nikolina rallied mothers and grandmothers of the preschoolers at Novaci's Bambi pre-school to participate in a two-day workshop making pillow toys for the humanitarian action "Embrace the Gift." With colorful piles of soft fleece, thread and pictures of pillow toy ideas printed from the internet, the moms/babas got to work making 20 pillow toys. Each of the pillows made will be inscribed with the name of a child from Bambi and then donated to the sick children who have to spend New Years Eve in the hospital. Here's a few pics of our pillow toys, made with love.
Sewing workshop - moms and grandmothers sewing the pillow toys.
Preschoolers stuffing the pillow toys. (by the time they were done,
the room was covered in stuffing and looked like it had snowed inside)
The Final Products
