The Right People.

"Proactively surround yourself with the right people. When it comes to longevity, there is no short term fix.  But when you think about it, your friends are long-term avengers and therefore, perhaps the most significant thing you can do to add more years to your life and more life to your years."
-Dan Buettner on Blue Zones and Long Life

So much has happened this past month!
  • I moved.
  • I have chickens!
  • Lui (the cat) thinks he's a chicken: following them around the yard all day, even trying to take dusts baths with them. Poor guy does not understand why they keep running away from him squawking.
  • I have the best landlord/Macedonian Baba that a girl could ask for - she adopted me AND Lui (rare for Macedonians that I knowk to allow kitties in their houses), cooks for me, washes my laundry and her husband even chops my wood. I'm getting spoiled.
  • 650 women and I danced the night away for International Women's Day on March 8th.
Photo recap:

1. I had finally settled into my little Macedonian house, quirks and all, just in time for my landlord to kick me out. He decided to move his family back to the village mid-winter. With a quick turn-around and lots of help from Igorche and Nikolina, I'm now living here:

My new awesome landlord Veselka and her grandkids.

2. March 8th was International Women's Day - we celebrated for three days straight - dinner, drinks and dancing with the ladies.

17 months into my Peace Corps Service and I am so grateful to be surrounded by the right people. Lots of LOVE from Macedonia.
