Break a Leg!

"Freedom is not the capacity to be what you are not, but the capacity to be fully who you already are; to develop your inherent and true nature as much as possible.
True freedom will feel more like a discovery than an achievement."

What: Flight #21
Where: Denver to Los Angeles
When: 6:30am (Today) Friday, Oct 22nd
Who: Me and Nicole Mace, newfound adventure buddy
WHY: Couch surfing in L.A. so we can see Dustin Dlouhy in his (first?) acting gig here in Hollywood.

When Dustin Duke Dlouhy (former University of Montana football player extraordinaire turned businessman turned European-American football player turned boxer turned model turned aspiring actor) told me he had landed a part in the play, Take Me Out, which won the 2003 Tony Award for Best Play when it debuted on Broadway in NYC, I had to see it for myself! Fortunately, Southwest Airlines was having a supersale on tickets and my newfound adventure buddy, Nicole Mace, hopped on board without hesitation. Nicole and I met in Athens this past June during a travel course; bonded amidst castle and diving adventures in Santorini; and have embarked on many new experiences together in Colorado, including our first couch surfing experience in Rocky Mountain National Park this past July. As a professional belly dancer, she has introduced me to the many delights of Denver-Arab culture, as well as joined me for Salsa and Country nights in Denver. One of these days we are going to hit up the Sunday breakdancing classes, as well as the upcoming Halloween Denver Bboy Battle (costumes required). We have become fast friends, and now are in LA for MY first time! The only thing standing in the way of me and LA when I woke up at 4:30 this morning, was a 10-page final paper due by 5pm this evening. I am happy to say that I have just COMPLETED that paper from the couch where we are surfing in West Hollywood. Funny, the last final paper I wrote was in August from a little cafe in flooded Acapulco, on the pacific coast of Mexico. I literally had to wade through the street from my hotel to the cafe with my computer on my back. Apparently, I find more inspiration for papers while traveling than while in Denver?? Or maybe I just procrastinate.

Anyway, time for a nap and then I'll be ready for all that Hollywood has to offer. Break a leg, D!

Peace and discovery,
Hana T.
